Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment

For the first time in 1931, Afghan traders established the Commercial Arbitration Association to integrate their business activities and also defend their rights. Later on, this organization was transformed into the chamber of commerce and industries to promote domestic production and trade in all provinces.

Currently, the chamber represents over 90 % of the total Afghan workforce. ACCI is headquartered in Kabul and operates 27 branch chambers in 25 provinces. Its current membership exceeds 65,000 companies and 255 business unions, associations, and cooperatives who represent a vast majority of the total Afghan workforce.

Problem

                                Most of the local businesses here in Afghanistan are started by local businessmen who do not have any business management training. Most of them start a business while thinking about the local market and short-term profit ratios, they give very little thought to creating a consistent brand for their business and reaching new markets.

The COVID-19 outbreak has been a human tragedy and has had a growing impact on the global economy. While the COVID-19 epidemic is spreading all over the planet, Afghanistan government asked citizens to practice social distancing rules and many unnecessary businesses and services were shut down. In these difficult times, companies need to think out of the box find new markets, and new ways to reach customers.

Solution

                            Saawis proposed a mobile app, website, and members management system for Balkh CCI that helps its members connect to the local and global markets. The app and website will display the products and services offered by each company.
The app was launched in July 2020 and is available on both the Play Store and App Store.
The app is available in Pashto, Dari, and English languages, We have designed a very user friendly and easy to understand user interface. For business owners who aren’t tech-savvy, the app’s simple and straightforward interface is the perfect introduction to the world of e-commerce.

Here are some of the features of the app:
* Information about Balkh CCI members
* Products offered by BCCI members
* Services provided by BCCI members
* Latest BCCI News
* Each company is able to promote its brand, services, and products on the app.
* Contact details of each company
* BCCI Membership info
* List of industries
* BCCI events' albums
* And much more...

impact

                            It has been an exciting journey so far. We are eager to introduce local business owners to e-commerce and advertisement through digital media. Business owners are excited to see their products and services advertised on the Balkh CCI website and the Balkh CCI app on iPhone and Android. They are excited about the prospect of reaching new markets and customers.
